Pericoronitis
January 23, 2007 - 3:06 pm
I went to the dentist yesterday, because the gum over my lower right wisdom tooth was swollen, and very sensitive. I was told that I have Pericoronitis.
My dentist gave me some Penicillin, and Tylenol 3 with Codeine. He told me that all my wisdom teeth really need to come out, especially the one that is currently bothering me. He also told me that my wisdom teeth are boney, meaning attached or being held by the bone still. I am not sure if this qualifies it as an impaction or not, either way I am scared. I have never had to have any teeth pulled besides my baby teeth.

Awww babe….I totally understand the fear you are experiencing right now. I suffered needlessly for years because I was scared of having a tooth pulled. I can honestly tell you that you are experiencing way more pain right now than you will when you get the teeth extracted. I know hearing all ths probably does not help because people tried to tell me the same thing when I was going through it. Please don’t put off having it done like I did though. It will be fine I promise.

yeah, don’t be scared. I had two removed and now my upper right wisdom tooth is really bothering me. i woke up in pain because my jaw and neck was stiff and i could not turn to the right. i have not been able to eat for about 2 wks now, and its getting worse because i dont have dental insurance, right now i would pay anything to have this pain go away!
